662 Customers Of Potential Data Breach Linked To Third-Party Vendor Vulnerability

In the ever-shifting landscape of cybersecurity threats, two US banks, Artisans’ Bank and another unnamed institution, have sounded the alarm, warning a combined 69,662 customers of a potential data breach. The incident originated from a vulnerability in the systems of Marquis Software Solutions, a third-party vendor specializing in customer data management, marketing, and compliance software.
Marquis’s client base spans banks, credit unions, and correctional facilities, making the scope of this breach particularly concerning. According to a filing with the Office of the Maine Attorney General, Artisans’ Bank reported that 32,344 of its customers were impacted by the cybersecurity incident. The breach itself was first detected on August 14, 2025, when an unauthorized third party gained access to Marquis’s systems. However, it wasn’t until October 28, 2025, that Artisans’ Bank was informed of the breach, sparking a flurry of notifications and alerts to affected customers.
The Daily Hodl provided details on this topic, shedding light on the scope of the breach and the subsequent warnings issued by the banks. As the investigation continues, customers are advised to remain vigilant, monitoring their accounts for any suspicious activity.
