Autonomous Vehicles Take Center Stage At CES 2026

The autonomous vehicle revolution has finally arrived, and it’s happening at a breakneck pace. At CES 2026 in Las Vegas, the futuristic dreams of self-driving cars have transformed into a tangible reality. The event showcased an array of autonomous vehicles, from robotaxis to personally owned cars, public transportation, and industrial vehicles, signaling a seismic shift in the transportation landscape.

Waymo and Zoox, pioneers in the autonomous vehicle space, have already deployed their fleets in select cities, with plans for accelerated growth in 2026. The duo’s massive booths at the Las Vegas Convention Center drew massive crowds, eager to catch a glimpse of vehicles that seemed to have leaped straight out of a sci-fi movie. Uber, Nuro, and Lucid Motors unveiled the Lucid Gravity robotaxi, slated to begin carrying passengers by the end of the year.

Tensor showcased its self-driving car, designed for personal ownership, also scheduled to ship later this year. Nvidia’s CEO, Jensen Huang, introduced Alpamayo, an open-source group of AI models aimed at helping autonomous vehicles navigate complex situations using human-like reasoning.
