Florida’s Space Coast Launches Into High Gear With Record-Breaking 109 Orbital Rockets In 2025

Florida’s Space Coast has achieved a remarkable milestone, with 109 orbital rockets launching from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station and NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in 2025. This number nearly doubles the 57 orbital rockets launched in 2022. The accelerated launch cadence is attributed to reusability, not only of orbital launch vehicles but also of launch pads and recovery systems.

A notable example of this efficiency is the turnaround of Launch Complex 40. Following the NROL-77 national security mission on December 9, SpaceX crews prepared the pad for the Starlink 6-90 mission in just 50 hours and 44 minutes, setting a new launch-to-launch speed record. The increasing demand for launches is being met by new entrants in the space industry, including Blue Origin and Vulcan. The growth of the space industry has led to an exciting time for space exploration, with advancements in technology and infrastructure enabling more efficient and frequent launches.
