MGEN Renewable Energy Inc. Receives International Recognition For Leadership In Renewable Energy

MGEN Renewable Energy Inc., the renewable energy arm of Meralco PowerGen Corp., has stored international recognition for its leadership in renewable energy. The company received six awards from prestigious organizations, including the Asian Power Awards, Asia-Pacific Stevie Awards, and IJGlobal ESG Awards 2025. These accolades underscore MGEN’s dedication to driving the Philippines’ energy transition through large-scale renewable energy projects.

The awards are a testament to MGEN’s strategic approach to developing utility-scale renewable energy. Its flagship project, MTerra Solar, in Bulacan and Nueva Ecija, was named ESG Developer of the Year-Asia Pacific by the IJGlobal ESG Awards. This project is a significant contributor to the country’s renewable energy goals.

MGEN’s 55-megawatt solar power plant, BulacanSol, also received a Bronze Stevie Award in the Sustainability & Climate Protection Services category. The award was for its initiative, “BulacanSol: Meralco’s Road to a Coal-Free Future by 2050.” This recognition highlights MGEN’s efforts to reduce the country’s reliance on coal and promote a more sustainable energy future.
