Roborock Showcases Cutting-Edge Robot Vacuums At CES

As published in CNET:

The company’s innovative products, showcased for the second consecutive year, drew large crowds to its booth. Last year’s highlight was the Saros Z70, a robot vacuum featuring a mechanical arm that could clear obstacles from its path. This year, attention focused on the Saros Rover, the world’s first robot vacuum equipped with wheel-legs, enabling it to navigate complex indoor terrain, including climbing stairs and rolling down slopes.

These remarkable robotic capabilities, combining arms and legs, made Roborock’s vacuums a crowd favorite at CES, offering a unique blend of entertainment and functionality. However, the company’s less visible technological advancements are arguably even more significant. The Saros Z70 and Saros Rover represent the culmination of Roborock’s decade-long effort to integrate robotics and AI for seamless, perceptive intelligence that extends beyond simple navigation and obstacle avoidance.

According to Quan Gang, president of Roborock, the company has been committed to AI research for around a decade, reinvesting approximately 8% of its yearly revenue in R&D. Their specialized team of AI researchers has focused on empowering cleaning with AI, achieving notable success in navigation.
