SpaceX Launches Starlink 6-90 Mission From Cape Canaveral Amid Flurry Of Upcoming Launches

In the heart of Florida’s Space Coast, a flurry of rocket launches was set to unfold, with SpaceX leading the charge. On a recent Thursday evening, SpaceX successfully launched its Starlink 6-90 mission, carrying 29 Starlink satellites into orbit from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station’s Space Launch Complex 40. The launch, which occurred at 5:01 p. m. Eastern time, marked the 16th flight of the first-stage booster, demonstrating the company’s commitment to reusability.

The booster made a precise recovery landing downrange on the droneship A Shortfall of Gravitas, stationed in the Atlantic. This mission achieved a remarkable turnaround record between launches at SLC-40, with a mere two days, two hours, and 44 minutes passing since the Dec. 9 NROL-77 mission. The pace of launches was expected to quicken, with four more potential missions scheduled from Sunday night to early Friday, Dec. 19. United Launch Alliance (ULA) was set to join the fray, launching an Atlas V on the Amazon Leo 4 mission, formerly known as Project Kuiper, on Monday.
