Spielberg’s New Film Sparks Speculation And Extraterrestrial Rumors
The whispers of a new Spielberg film have set tongues wagging, and the tinfoil hat brigade is abuzz with excitement. According to Yahoo Entertainment, Steven Spielberg, the maestro of sci-fi, has been tight-lipped about his latest project, but the tantalizing prospect of real aliens or extraterrestrial technology has conspiracy theorists salivating (Yahoo Entertainment, 2023). In 1982, Spielberg’s iconic film ET the Extra-Terrestrial was screened at the White House, where a quip from Ronald Reagan sparked chuckles and curiosity.
As recalled by Spielberg in 2011, the former president stood up and said: “There are a number of people in this room who know that everything on that screen is absolutely true” (Spielberg, 2011). Reagan’s line, delivered by the former actor with a straight face, drew chuckles. “The whole room laughed because he presented it like a joke,” but “he wasn’t smiling as he said it” (Spielberg, 2011). Fast-forward to the present, and Spielberg’s new, as-yet-untitled film has been shrouded in secrecy.
Shortly after ET the Extra-Terrestrial was released in 1982, Ronald Reagan hosted a special screening of the film at the White House.
