Tory Bruno To Lead Blue Origin’s National Security Group

Tory Bruno, the outgoing president and CEO of United Launch Alliance, has been appointed as the president of Blue Origin’s newly formed National Security Group. This move marks a significant shift in the aerospace industry, as Bruno brings his 12 years of experience at ULA to a competitor. Under Bruno’s leadership, ULA had made significant strides, including the development of its new Vulcan rocket, a replacement for the Atlas V and Delta IV Heavy rockets.

His departure from ULA was announced earlier this week, with Bruno citing a desire to pursue a new opportunity. Blue Origin, founded by Jeff Bezos, has been making waves in the industry with its suborbital missions and heavy-lift orbital New Glenn rocket. The company has a vast campus on Merritt Island, where it constructs the New Glenn rocket, and launches from nearby Cape Canaveral Space Force Station’s Launch Complex 36. Bruno’s appointment is seen as a strategic move by Blue Origin, as the company looks to expand its capabilities in the national security space.

According to Dave Limp, Blue Origin’s CEO, Bruno brings “unmatched experience” and will help accelerate the company’s mission to deliver innovative technology to support the nation.
